Being the uber-consistent blogger that I am, I figured I'd give a quick update before I leave the country this Thursday.
This Thursday morning I will wake up at 4 a.m., say goodbye to my family and boyfriend at the airport, and the next morning at about 3 a.m. I'll arrive in Milan, Italy. From there we'll drive to Tortona to spend 4 days ministering shop-to-shop and in parks, and then the next four days in Aosta doing the same type of work. After a day in Turin, we'll head back to Milan and arrive home at about 10 p.m. on July 6th.
And I feel totally and entirely unprepared. Sure, I've got a decent handle on the language and I have my Euros and I'm mostly packed, but spiritually things have been a bit rocky lately.
Isn't it ironic that we don't realize we've forgotten Him until we realize we need Him?
Thankfully, God's been preparing me for this for a long time. He proved to me last summer that when I feel most unprepared is when he is most ready. When I'm most needy is when I most cling to Him.
I'm going into this trip with no expectations, not even a clue as to what will happen. All I know is that I won't be the same person when I get back.
So farewell, me. The winds of change are coming.
