Acclimate: the Road to Passion 2015

"Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
    and cry to her
that her warfare is ended,
    that her iniquity is pardoned,
that she has received from the Lord's hand
    double for all her sins.
A voice cries:
“In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord;
    make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be lifted up,
    and every mountain and hill be made low;
the uneven ground shall become level,
    and the rough places a plain.
And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
    and all flesh shall see it together,
    for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” " Isaiah 40:1-5
I know I'm behind on the times, but day one of Passion 2015's video devotionals really grabbed my heart. I'm beyond excited that this is the first year I can go because I've seen what a heavy impact this conference has had on people I know the past few years.

I'm a firm believer in God's perfect timing, and this is no exception. As I hear Louie read this scripture and talk about how God will meet us in our wildernesses of broken hearts and changing times my soul confirms it: yes, my soul is weary and aching and in desperate need of water. I believe that God is doing a new thing in me and I am ready, even desperate, to begin. He is doing it day by day and I am surviving but I'm ready for the fire hydrant, and I'm ready to be overwhelmed by the presence of God.

I sense it in these words, in the heart behind this event and I have no doubt that God is preparing me, preparing all of us, for a mighty thing. He will meet us there and my heart leaps as I hear the words of this new song. Yes, Lord, draw near. I am ready and I am thirsty and I will wait expectantly to hear from You.
