“Like the world’s gone mad, like your heart and head have just up and shattered over night and you are sitting in a mess trying to put the pieces together again and we all get old and there’s no defying it and you aren't all you want to be and neither is anyone you love.
Every single day has a bit of it’s own now-traumatic stress disorder. It’s not just the life crises that are traumatic. The mirror can be traumatic and any self-reflection, and time and aging is traumatic for us who are made to breathe eternity.”
Isn't that the truth.
Life is hard. Growing up is hard. It hurts so badly. We fight for things we can't keep and lose things we always wanted. Our hearts are broken and shredded to pieces and there's nothing we can do but pray with every breath and hope with all our might.
Because this is not the end and we are not alone. Two powerful statements that if we could truly believe all the time would change our lives.
When everything goes wrong and you have no plans except to try to make a plan, remember this is not the end.
When your friends are moving on and your heart aches in your chest, remember you are not alone.
When you feel time is running out and you haven't done all you've dreamed of, remember we were made to breathe eternity.
This is not the end. God will not stop working in us. He has promised that he will continue the good work until it is completed. He won't leave you hanging. Though we may not see it now, he is weaving a tapestry of our lives that in the end will be more beautiful than we can imagine. But we have to trust Him. In the meantime, enjoy the little things. Be the GIFT. Be kind. Be grateful. Be faithful. And be patient.
You are not alone. He will walk alongside you every step of the way. In those mornings when it takes every bit of strength to get out of bed, He is there. When darkness follows you like a cloud, He is there. When you try so hard and can't seem to do anything but fail, He is saying to let go and let Him do it for you. He is our constant companion, our Shield, our Strength, our Hope.
So heads up, friends. Keep breathing. Keep hoping. Keep trusting.

"He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end."-Ecclesiastes 3:11 (ESV)
